Our Mission Statement
As an independent, community bank, our team members will consistently deliver superior quality service and financial products to our customers while providing a reasonable return for our shareholders.
First National Bank is a premier community bank that knows our customers by name, personally invests in our local communities and provides financial solutions to our neighbors.
In the fall of 1918, a small group of people believed that it would be beneficial to the community of Pandora to look to the future and that a new bank be formed. First National Bank was chartered in 1919. Thirty people consented to be stockholders and seven were chosen to serve as members of the Board of Directors. The original reasoning concerning successful banking were as follows:
- A good bank must be owned and operated largely by people of the community themselves.
- A good and successful bank can be organized only where there are strong and constant economic resources.
- That the success of a rural bank can only be assured by community loyalty, sustained by a high-grade citizenship, supported by morals and religion.
Over 95 years have passed and The First National Bank of Pandora still prides itself on these original banking successes. Since then, the bank has gone through many stages of development, including several expansions and remodeling to the main office in Pandora, and the opening of branches in Bluffton and Findlay. The bank continues to maintain a special emphasis on serving small businesses and working with farmers.
The large customer base in the Bluffton area and our commitment to customer service made it very clear that a Bluffton branch was necessary, and one was opened in 1990. The bank opened a branch on the east side of Findlay, just two blocks west of the Findlay Village Mall, in 2001. This provided larger exposure for the growing bank. In 2012, First National opened its newest office on the west side of Findlay, on State Route 224, just west of I-75.
Our success is all due to the faith and commitment of its customers, employees, board of directors, and officers. The bank has always focused on the main goal of providing financial solutions to the communities that it serves. Not only is there an emphasis on financial solutions, but employees at First National Bank are also very active in community activities and organizations, spending their own time to support others. This commitment will allow the bank many more successful years as an independently owned bank.
