Commercial Lending Assistant
SUMMARY: Assists Commercial Lender in solicitation, evaluation, and servicing of loans to existing and potential borrowers through performance of support duties which include: obtaining credit, financial and other pertinent data, preparing loan approval documentation, reports and worksheets for loan packages, following up on requests for loan information and documentation, and following documentation and funding procedures within the approved terms and conditions of the loan and Bank's policies and procedures. Ability to take a consumer loan application.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists applicants in completing necessary loan application and obtain necessary documentation.
Follows up for loan covenants and pending items.
Follows up on requests for Credit Reports.
Orders loan documentation or follows up on requests for loan documentation
Assists loan customers with operations problems when necessary or refers to operations staff.
Prepares packages and closing instructions for title companies and schedules pickups.
Processes advances and draw requests
Closes loans as requested by Commercial Lender.
Clears exceptions to maintain outstanding credit asset quality.
Review, respond and coordinate with Commercial Lender in the clearing of documentation and financial exceptions as well as monitoring of notes maturing that require action.
Answers telephone and assists both the Commercial Lender and clients with inquiries regarding balances, payoffs, payment application, note modifications, and other miscellaneous routine servicing.
Performs clerical duties, including answering phones, typing and filing.
May be called upon to perform any job related task as needed by the Bank.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field preferred emphasis on administration or two years' experience and/or equivalent combinations of education and experience; ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Excel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to employees, other top management, existing and prospective customers, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and points. Ability to apply concepts of basic accounting and finance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of credit analysis, loan presentation skills, loan documentation, and lending laws and regulations.
Working knowledge of banking functions such as asset/liability management, loans and appraisals, compliance and problem loans.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Ohio Commercial Lending School Certificate of Completion or equivalent from accredited banking school may be beneficial. Certification may be obtained following hire if other qualifications are largely met.
