John B. Arnold

John B. Arnold graduated in 1976 from Bowling Green State University with a B.A. Degree in General Business and then joined a community bank in Findlay. John continued his education at the Ohio Bankers Association Ohio School of Banking, Consumer Lending School and Commercial Lending School and the American Bankers Association National Commercial Lending School and National Commercial Lending Graduate School. John held a variety of positions in consumer lending, retail banking and commercial lending. In 1991 Mr. Arnold was named President and CEO of Fifth Third Bank of Western Ohio, where he remained until his retirement in 1997.

Upon returning to his hometown of Findlay, John coached football and basketball at the high school level, was a sports broadcaster for Time Warner Sports, served on the Hancock County Community Foundation Finance Committee and was the Service Director for the City of Findlay. In 2005 he was hired as Vice President of Commercial Lending at First National Bank. John was appointed to the Board of Directors from 2007 – 2009 and again in 2015.

Jared L. Lehman

Jared Lehman is a graduate of Bluffton High School and a graduate of Bluffton University where he earned both his B.A. and M.A. degrees. Currently, he serves as President/CEO of the Lima YMCA. He previously worked as the Executive Director of Otterbein Cridersville Senior Lifestyle Community. He has spent his entire professional career working in the field of elder care including 10 years at Good Samaritan Society of Arlington. He joined the Board of Directors of First National Bank in 2011.

Randal J. Verhoff

Randy has over 30 years’ experience in corporate and individual taxation, financial analysis, accounting, consulting and business management. A 1990 honor graduate of Bowling Green State University, with a major in Accounting, Randy began is career with Price Waterhouse in Toledo, Ohio. He then served as Tax and Finance Director for a Family-Owned international automotive supplier based in Findlay, Ohio until 2002. In February 2002 Randy then fulfilled a life-long goal of establishing his own Accounting Practice. Verhoff & Company now has three CPA-Owners and employs 10 full-time and 5 part-time employees while serving numerous small and medium sized businesses and families.

Mr. Verhoff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is past President of the NW Ohio Tax Forum, Ottawa-Glandorf Rotary Club and Glandorf Baseball Association. Randy has served over 20 years as a Trustee for a Church-based multi-million-dollar Foundation and has served in numerous volunteer capacities with his church and other local organizations and has volunteered numerous hours in the community coaching youth sports activities. Randy and his wife Sharon have five children and reside in Ottawa, Ohio. Mr. Verhoff joined the First National Bank Board of Directors in 2013.

Scott L. Basinger

Scott L. Basinger graduated from Pandora High School and the University of Toledo in 1993 (B.B.A). He received his M.B.A from the University of Findlay in 1995 and his Doctorate from the Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit School of Law in 2000. Currently, he practices law in Bluffton and Pandora. Basinger is a licensed title agent and owner of Blackhoof Title Agency LLC, located in Bluffton and part owner of Golden Key Title Agency, Inc. in Findlay.

Basinger serves as a member on the Ohio State Bar Assoc. Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) committee, the Real Property Section Committee for the Ohio State Bar Association, the Bluffton Preschool Board, the Blanchard Valley Hospital Regional Health Care Foundation Planned Giving Board and is the Village of Pandora Solicitor. He also serves as an adjunct professor for all collegiate levels at Ohio Northern University Law School, University of Findlay and Tiffin University. Scott was appointed to the First National Board of Directors in 2016.

Todd A. Mason

CEO/Chairman of First National Bank

Todd graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science with Distinction. He majored in agricultural economics with minors in accounting, finance, computer science and mathematics. Mr. Mason is a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking, Colorado Graduate School of Banking, and the Ohio Bankers Association Advanced Commercial Lending School.

Mr. Mason has 39 years of experience in the banking field. He worked for two other area community banks before beginning his career at First National Bank in 2004. He has served in the capacity of President, Vice President, Senior Lender, Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, and President before becoming CEO of First National Bank. He previously served on the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, the Board of the Community Bank Council of the American Bankers Association, and the Advisory Board for the Ohio State University in Lima. He is currently a Board member of the Ohio Bankers League and serves as their Treasurer.

Mr. Mason lives with his wife Jennifer on their family farm in Allen County. They have five children and 11 grandchildren.

Ronda Lehman

Ronda Lehman is a graduate of Allen East High School, received her B.S. In Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University (ONU), her Pharm.D. from The Ohio State University and an MBA at Tiffin University. She also completed the Executive Management Program for Pharmacy Leaders at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2014, Ronda obtained her fellow status with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

She joined Mercy in 1995, and now currently serves as President of the Lima Market of Bon Secours Mercy Health. Ronda works to fulfill the mission of BSMH throughout the region-of improving the quality and access to care for the poor, dying and underserved.

In the community, she serves on the Greater Lima Region, Inc. Board, the Lima Area YMCA Board of Directors, and is part of the Ohio Northern University Board of Trustees. She is member of the Westminster Christian Church (where she teaches adult bible study, and plays the piano for worship). She volunteers at Ohio Dally Bread Soup Kitchen.

Ronda and her husband Gerald reside on a farm east of Lima where they raise chickens and enjoy farm life. Ronda enjoys gardening, running, swimming, canning, reading and attending many sporting events. Ronda and her husband Gerald have three children.

Brendon Matthews

President

Brendon Matthews is originally from Bluffton, Ohio, and is a graduate of Bluffton High School. He received his undergraduate degree in English at Anderson University in Anderson, IN in 2002. After starting his banking career at Madison Community Bank in Anderson (now First Merchants Bank), Brendon earned his MBA from Anderson University and then moved back to Bluffton in 2006 and joined First National Bank.

In his 22 years as a banker, Brendon has worked in a variety of roles including teller, branch manager, small business lender, sales manager, Senior Lender, Executive Vice President, and his current role as Chief Lending Officer.

Brendon is a graduate of the Barret Graduate School of Banking in Memphis, and the Ohio Banker’s League Blythe Bank Management program. In 2021, he earned a Doctorate degree in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University.

In the community, Brendon is a Bluffton Lion, has served as a Rotarian, was board chair for the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs and for the Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. Brendon has taught undergraduate classes as an adjunct professor at Bluffton University, and at the Ohio Bankers League, Brendon served as a member and then Chair of the Next Gen Advisory Board.

When he’s not working, Brendon enjoys trail running, sports, and keeping up with his 3 daughters’ many activities. Brendon has coached all 3 of his daughters on the Bluffton High School soccer team and watched his older two play college soccer at Bluffton and Heidelberg Universities. Brendon lives in Bluffton with his wife, Renee.
