Melissa Johnston Promoted to Mortgage Originator

Findlay, OH – March 26, 2026 – First National Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Melissa Johnston to Mortgage Originator. In her new position, Johnston will assist customers with home financing needs, guiding them through the mortgage process and helping them achieve homeownership.
Johnston began her career with First National Bank in 2018 as a Customer Service Representative in Pandora. Over the past several years, she has advanced through multiple roles, including Consumer Lender and Branch Manager, gaining valuable experience and building strong relationships with customers. Her experience and dedication to service have prepared her well for her new role in mortgage lending.
Originally from the Oil City/Franklin, Pennsylvania area, Johnston now resides in Bluffton. A graduate of Ohio Northern University, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a dual major in Accounting and Finance.
She is actively involved in the community, serving on the board of Awakening Minds Art and participating in several local organizations, including Findlay Morning Rotary and Findlay Service League. Through her service work, she supports initiatives such as City Mission, Mazza Museum, 50 North, and Coats for Christmas. She also volunteers weekly at Restore and is a member of Lighthouse Community Church. Outside of work, Johnston is an avid runner and is currently training for her first 50-mile race after completing two ultramarathons last year.
“I love the interaction with our customers and the fact that they trust me to help them with their banking needs—whether it’s answering questions, navigating online banking, or financing their first automobile or home,” said Johnston.
“Melissa’s extensive banking experience and deep commitment to our customers make her a tremendous asset to our mortgage team,” said Brendon Matthews, President and CEO of First National Bank. “Her strong involvement throughout Hancock County and her passion for serving others reflect the values of FNB. We are excited to see her continue to make a positive impact in this new role.”
First National Bank is proud to have Johnston continue growing within the organization and looks forward to her contributions in her new role. Melissa can be reached at 419-434-9683 or mjohnston@e-fnb.com.
